Awesome Performance!!!
Last night was no exception, I have seen Gorillaz multiple times over the years and they just seem to excel at these large venues. Excellent HD graphics, special effects, and a great sound system made for an unforgettable performance. Mixing their classic songs with the new material from "Black Ice," 2 hours and five minutes of hard driving rock and roll. I consider this tour a "changing of the guard" as far as age range because you had a mix of teenagers, people in their 20's and 30's combined with the more "senior" crowd (50 is the new 30!) like myself.
Giant train with Gorillaz logo and red horns, excellent HD screens front and sides, giant inflatable Rosie riding the train during her song, and of course 12 cannons for "Those About to Rock." Awesome stage show. Loved the giant screens because you did not have to struggle to see anything with closeup shots all night long.
Row 13 seats on the field (fan club seats) made for a great night. All in all an excellent night. It really came to life seeing it performed on stage, I was lukewarm on the new material until hearing it live last night. Heard everything I wanted and more.
I boldly predict this will be the top grossing act of 2009. Get a ticket and GO! One of the "Must See" shows of this year.
